Obituary: Berna Deane Anderson

Berna Deane Anderson
1921 - 2007

SALINA, UT- Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Berna Deane Parks Anderson, passed away peacefully in Salina, Utah on Nov. 29, 2007 at the age of 86. She was born October 27, 1921 in Richfield, Utah, a daughter of John William and Clara Horne Parks. She married Valden C. Anderson on March 7, 1950 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Berna Deane was active in the LDS Church auxiliaries, serving in the Cub Scouts, Relief Society, Primary and as the pianist. She was also active in the American Legion Auxiliary. She worked as a telephone operator until she married, then she was a homemaker. She had four boys and worked alongside her family in the egg business and in the little egg store in Salina, for many years.

Berna Deane is survived by her husband, of Salina; sons, V. Carl Anderson, W. Brent and Roseann Anderson, Preston L. and Cindy Anderson, all of Salina; seven grandchildren; seven great-grand-children; sister, Hazel P. Urie of Cedar City.

She was preceded in death by a son, Howard G. Anderson; great-granddaughter, Tylie Ann Peterson; daughter-in-law: Roene G. Anderson; parents, five brothers and four sisters.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 12 Noon in the Salina Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
