Obituary: Howard Clinton Tate

Howard Clinton Tate 1917 ~ 2006 Howard Clinton Tate, 88, passed away peacefully April 20, 2006, of causes incident to age. Thanks to the staffs at the Neighborhood House and Utah Veterans Nursing Home. Howard was born July 18, 1917, in Richfield, Utah, to Edwin F. and Florence Horne. Graduated from South High School and attended the U of U. Served a mission to the Southern States before joining the Air Force. Assigned to the Air Transport Command and spent the war years flying passengers and supplies to Africa, Arabia and India. He married Carol Haynie January 27, 1945 in Denver. Sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple, October 1946. Howard was a salesman and had his own business. He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Tim (Louise), Lee (Dawn), Sherie Murphy (Michael), Kelly (Janet), Lyn Bankhead (Michael), Jeanie Sharp (David); 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother Boyd and sister Marjorie Kelson. Preceded in death by parents, three brothers and two sisters, daughter-in-law Cathy and two grandsons - Paul and Colby. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 28 at noon at the Foothill 4th Ward, 1794 Texas Street. Family and friends may call at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E. 1300 S. Thursday from 6-8 p.m., or at the church Friday from 10:45 to 11:45 prior to services. Interment at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
